Watch tower at Bence-Hill

Design contest for architects by hungarian forest-management company, Vadex Ltd.
We cought some inspironing things through the area:
The stone mine's red surface on account of its iron content.
Tectonic formation of dove stone walls beside the road.
Presence of the dense evergreen vegetation.

Next to the natural environment, it is an outstanding value that there is something to attract people. It is already a popular destination for locals and tourists. It was important for us that the task is not filling an empty area with life. It already has answer to why. Rather, the plan has to be a tasteful addition, seizing the moment.

When somebody arrives to the Bence-Hill, immediately turn the questions up:
Where is the refresment?
How far can I see?
At the end of the road, as a check-point, we installed a small building - buffet, warehouse, toilet inside. This is the ideal place to precieve by the arrivals from the road and by the visitors from the top of the Bence-Hill.

It is a light construction to build it rapidly and economically. It covered by the nearby stone, which changed to corten steel case. Corten steel is the contemporary element that is merged together the tower, the buffet and the environment.
The watchtower has a tectonic appearance according to the environment, described above.

At the bottom of the tower it is open and filigree to let the visitors adore the nearby
trees' crown. As moving up the stairs, four storeys opened to different picturesque directions.

The construction is evolved to build quickly using similar elements. Is has a steel frame covered perforated corten case.
Visualization of the tower
It was a progressive developement and great teamwork!
